About me
Hi my name is Lucas Jimenez
I'm a high school student who loves aerospace and a good amount of my time outside of school is spent on personal hobbies, so this website will serve as a brief summary of my hobbies and endeavors. Given that this is to be brief, each project will have an image of the end result and a summary of its successes or failures and what it is intended to do.
My interests
My main interest is Aerospace engineering for two reasons. First, after doing a long term study of aviation history through articles, documentaries, etc., I find the construction of aircraft to be an elegant field of engineering. By this I mean that although it is very complex, the solutions employed are efficient and practical (at least in the case of the successful ones which are the ones focused on in aviation history). Second, I find the mechanics of flight, once again complicated, but remarkable in its counterintuitive nature especially when above subsonic speeds.
My goals
My goals as far as Aerospace engineering are concerned, are twofold:
- My first goal is to achieve employment in Skunkworks under Lockheed Martin so as to be able to design high end and top secret military aircraft professionally.
- My second goal and one of my dreams is to design and build an aircraft from scratch by myself, just as was done in the infancy of aviation.
